R4R and Capital Athletics Team Up to Promote Community Fitness and Wellbeing
Running for Resilience (R4R) is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Capital Athletics (CA), with the goal of enhancing community engagement through running to promote physical and mental well-being.
R4R is a walking/running group that started in 2019 to save one life from suicide. But as the initiative has grown to over 500 weekly participants, it now has a mission to make the ACT suicide-free by 2033.
R4R will have access to CA’s expertise in event management, ensuring smoother and more professional execution of their events. Additionally, the partnership will offer runners the option to get personal insurance at a discounted rate.
This collaboration aligns with CA’s goal of partnering with local running clubs that get people into running, and provide a pathway for those interested in further athletic pursuits, such as Masters.
Matt Breen, founder of Running for Resilience: "We are excited to partner and form a long-term relationship with Capital Athletics to get more Canberrans exercising with friends."
Glen Taylor, CEO of Capital Athletics, added: "Athletics is more than just track and field, it is about realising the health and wellbeing benefits associated with physical activity. Running for Resilience is doing a great job getting people into running, and we're excited about this first step in partnering with like minded groups across the ACT and surrounding Region.”
